Eligbility. The Easter Monday Texas Scramble Competition is open to all seven day adult members. Junior members with a maximum handicap index of 25.0 for boys, and a maximum handicap index of 24.0 for girls (equivalent to a Course Handicap of 28 from the mens white tees and ladies red tees) are eligible to enter.
Starting Holes. Starting holes will be allocated by random draw two days prior to the competition and communicated to all entrants.
Format. Revised Texas Scramble Medal played in fours. All players tee off on each hole. Each team member must have a minimum of four tee shots selected, which must be marked on the Team Scorecard. On each hole, the team selects the best ball, and all subsequent shots are played from that position until the hole is completed. In all instances, the player whose ball is selected does not play the next shot; only the other three team members do. Therefore, only three balls are in play after the tee shots, including on the putting greens. Once a player’s ball is chosen as the position for the next shot, the player must mark the spot. On closely‑mown areas, the other players may place their golf balls. If the ball lies in the rough or a hazard, it must be dropped within six inches. Where a team member’s tee shot must be used, and it is driven out of bounds or lost, then the other three team members may play again under the “stroke and distance” rule. In other circumstances, if all shots are lost, the team must return to the spot where the previous shot was played, and all team members who played that previous shot play again under the “stroke and distance” rule
Handicap Allowance. Course Handicaps (unrounded) are calculated in the usual way except that all calculations should use the men’s par (so that ladies effectively receive an extra two shots on their Course Handicap): Scramble 4 Players = 25%/20%/15%/10% from lowest to highest Course Handicap (unrounded). The team’s Playing Handicap is rounded to the nearest integer at the end of the calculation.
Tees. White, Yellow, Red.
Ties. In the event of a tie, results will be determined by a card play-off as defined in the Competition Reference File.
Submission of Scores Members must submit their scores either by using the IG app or by using the PSI terminal located in the Spike Bar, if available, and placing their completed scorecard in the Competition Box.
Presentation. The Prize Presentation will take place after the event. Any prize money will be awarded to the winning and runner-up teams.
